Nehru trophy boat race is one of the
attraction of Alleppey, held on Punnamada lake near Alleppey town Held on the
second Saturday of august every year. It
is the most competitive boat race of Kerala. The most popular event of the race
is the competition of Chundan Vallams (snake boat
race).The crews rigorously practice for the race month in advance. In that
month they live together, sleep together, dine together to build a strong team.
Other types boats which participate in various events of the race are Churulan
Vallam, Iruttukuthy Vallam,
Odi Vallam, Veppu Vallam (Vaipu Vallam), Vadakkanody Vallam and Kochu Vallam. The boatmen are
sings the Vachi pattu, the crowd also join with them and enjoy the boat race.

Kuttanad
is the rice blow of kerala with unending stretches of paddy field. The greenish
paddy fields it can make some cool moments in our heart. The Backwaters of Alleppey which is truly astounding.

ReplyDeleteAlleppey is the best place for the tourist destination for the tourist to visit in the days of the holidays. I have once been to this place along with my one of my friend from Madurai in the month of the January last year. This was one of the nice experience which i have gained from the tour. The climate of this place is one of the most moderate and very much suitable to visit.
